Brazilian Cheese Bread, known in Portuguese as Pão de Queijo, consists of small ping-pong size (bitesize) breads.
This recipe is vegan. It is also gluten and dairy free. This was given to me by a friend from Brazil.
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 C mashed potatoes
- 1 1/2 C tapioca starch (not flour)
- 1/4 C nutritional yeast flakes
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/3 C oil
- 1/4 C water
- 1-2 T milk (add additional milk if dough is dry)
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
- Form small balls with your hand.
- Place balls about an inch apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
